NUDC and IVDC
NUDC and IVDC are the biggest competitions that Dancesport takes part in each year.
NUDC - Northern University Dance Competition
NUDC is a British Northern University Dancesport competition. Each year the competition is hosted by a different University in a different location- and all Northern Universities are invited to go to it. This year (2009-2010) the competition is being hosted by Durham University. You'll find universites like Hull, Durham, Warwick, Sheffield, Liverpool, Nottingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Lancaster to name just a few while you're there.
IVDC - Inter Varsity Dance Competition
IVDC is a national university competition held annually in the Wintergardens ballroom in Blackpool. This is the same ballroom that is used for the WORLD championships and is a fantastical venue for this dancing event. The competition is open to all universities in the UK, and is a great chance to see some truly remarkable dancers and elegant ballroom dresses. Traditionally, Oxford and Cambridge share the main prizes for the event- but many universities come together to share the action in this amazing event.
