Dancesport on Holiday

The closing few bars of the Jitterbug as it played to an entertained Vanbrugh Dining Hall are the last Dancesport will hear for the rest of the academic year, and i'd like to thank everyone who took part. So what there were a few mistakes here and there (Sum I think you handled your fall really well personally) we managed to let the crowd ease up and have fun. That's the spirit of Woodstock so I think we fit the bill pretty well.

But not to dwell on the past, the biiig hiatus from here (about 16 weeks until the next Dancesport lesson by the way) will be sprinkled with thoughts of the new year and what Dancesport'll be up to this year. The main Dancesport events throughout next year, as far as i'm aware, to the following rough outline.

Autumn Term:
Week 1 Saturday: fresher's fair
Week 2 Tuesday: Dancesport lessons and practices begin again
Week 4 Sunday: York Come Dancing 2009/2010 training begins
Week 8 Saturday: York Come Dancing Show
Week 9 Tuesday: Last lesson of term

Spring Term:
Week 1 Saturday: Fresher's fair 2 (if the YUSU candidate manifesto is to be trusted)
Week 2 Tuesday: Lessons begin
Spring Term: NUDC Competition
Spring Term: IVDC Competition
Maybe Sheffield, Keele or Manchester too?
Spring term: Dancesport at Fusion
Week 9 Tuesday: Committee Elections

Summer Term:
Week 2 Tuesday: Lessons begin
Week 2(ish) Saturday: Roses (held in Lancaster)
Week 2: Committee Handover
Week 9 : Dancesport at Woodstock

And that's just what I know might happen. That's got to be peppered with socials and maybe more competitions before being served piping hot. Also, I found out that on Jan 1st Dancesport will have been ratified for 40 years. We're going to have to celebrate!
