Dancesport Competition Season

After a few lessons this week, and an impromptu practice or two, I'm beginning to get rather overly-excited about the coming competitions! We're going to have an awesome year! It's great to go out with a team that makes you proud, and although we've got some time to keep working, I can honestly say that I'm proud to dance with and to represent such great people.

Both partners and I have now got all of our routines choreographed, finally! Now, to remember them all...and to dance them well...I cannot wait to get to work on them!

p.s. the music dept should expect many more evenings of loud jive music coming from their sound systems ;)

"Only two more weeks of pain and torture" - Ollie Hutchings, reassuringly

I'm really proud of Ollie for his effort tonight - he kept dragging me back to practise the routine when I'd lost my concentration! He looked awesome by the end of the session, and I hope he's feeling confident about it, after his initial camera fears...who'd think the boy could be shy?!

He turned up after very little sleep, and didn't have his thinking cap (or any of his usual head-gear) on, but after a while, it all just clicked, and he did the routine through perfectly to the track. Joel said some positive things about us too - he was impressed by Ollie's "sinking" action and his ability to keep his frame whilst using his legs properly (something that I personally find hard about ballroom).

I'm pretty happy with how everyone's looking - as much as I would love to win with Ollie, I'm glad everyone else looks great - I'm just pleased that it's going to be an amazing show, from every contestant, to the demonstrations.

If you've not got a ticket yet, I suggest you do it SOON - they're going down!

S :)
